A book based on drawings and texts by children after the plane crash in Bijlmermeer on October 4, 1992

On October 4, 2022, the Bijlmer plane crash will be exactly 30 years ago. An EL AL cargo plane crashed and hit two flats. Groeneveen and Kruitberg. This was not only a disaster for Amsterdam, but for the whole of the Netherlands. The schools in the Bijlmermeer received letters. Condolences and expressions of support came from all over the country: 'I live in the very tip of Groningen, but still, I cried all day.' After this disaster, children from the Bijlmer drew and wrote their feelings away. Many of these drawings and texts are bundled in 'A hole in my heart'. In nine chapters, the book follows the period from October 4, 1992 to the summer of 1993. 'A hole in my heart' started as a joint project of the schools in the Bijlmermeer. The book was first published on October 4, 1993. This copy is a reissue released in collaboration with Omroep ZWART , so that we never forget the impact of the disaster.
